# Market Approval

> Understanding the market approval process and requirements

## Market Approval Process

All markets on Predicta go through an approval process to ensure quality, clarity, and compliance with platform rules.

## Approval Workflow

### Step 1: Submission

1. You create and submit your market
2. Market status becomes **PENDING\_APPROVAL**
3. Market is queued for admin review

### Step 2: Admin Review

1. Admins review your market for clarity, completeness, and compliance
2. Usually takes 24–48 hours

### Step 3: Decision

* **Approved**: Market status changes to **OPEN** and is live for trading
* **Needs Changes**: You'll be notified with specific feedback
* **Rejected**: Market is rejected with an explanation

## Approval Criteria

### Clear Question

* The question must have an unambiguous, resolvable answer
* No multiple interpretations
* Specific enough to determine a winner

### Resolution Criteria

* Clear, objective method for determining the outcome
* Named sources where the outcome will be verified
* No subjective judgment required

### Appropriate Expiration

* Expiration date must be set **before** the actual event
* Enough time for traders to participate
* Not set so far in the future it becomes impractical

### Complete Information

* All required fields filled in
* Description provides enough context for traders to make informed decisions
* Sources clearly specified

### Platform Compliance

* No prohibited content
* Follows platform rules and guidelines
* Appropriate category selected

## Common Rejection Reasons

### Unclear Questions

* Vague or ambiguous wording
* Multiple possible interpretations
* No objective way to determine the answer

### Missing Information

* Incomplete descriptions
* No resolution criteria specified
* Missing sources

### Inappropriate Content

* Topics that violate platform policies
* Inappropriate or offensive language

### Timing Issues

* Expiration date set after the event
* Expiration too close to the event (no time for trading)

## Editing After Rejection

1. Go to **"Your Markets"** in the sidebar → **Pending** tab
2. Find the market that needs changes
3. Click **"Edit"** — only available while status is **Pending**
4. Address the rejection reason carefully
5. Save — the market remains in Pending for re-review

## After Approval

1. Market status changes to **Open**
2. The market becomes visible to all traders on the Markets page
3. Traders can start placing orders immediately
4. You can also trade on your own market

Monitor activity from the market detail page — you can see volume, price movements, and recent trades.

## Resolving a Closed Market

When your market's expiry date passes, it moves to **Closed** status and appears in the **Finished** tab of Your Markets. A banner at the top of Your Markets will notify you when markets are ready to resolve.

1. Go to **Your Markets → Finished** tab
2. Click **"Settle"** on the closed market
3. Select the correct winning outcome(s)
4. Confirm — payouts are processed automatically for winning traders
