Understanding Your Balance

  • Available Balance: Funds you can use for trading right now
  • In Suspense: Funds reserved for your open (unfilled) orders — released when orders fill or are cancelled
  • Total Balance: Available + In Suspense
Your balance is shown in your preferred display currency (USD, KES, etc.). Hover over any amount to see the exact USD equivalent and the current exchange rate.

Step 4: Browse Markets

Finding a Market

  1. Click “Markets” in the sidebar (or the Predicta logo) to return to the home page
  2. Use the category pills (All, Tech, Politics, Sports, Business, World Events) to filter by topic
  3. Use the filter tabs (Trending, Popular, New, etc.) to sort results
  4. Use the search bar to find markets by keyword

Reading a Market Card

Each card shows:
  • Market title (the question being predicted)
  • Category and type badge (e.g. “Tech · Series · LIVE”)
  • Each outcome with its current implied probability and multiplier (e.g. 50% · 2.00×)
  • Expiry date

Step 5: Make Your First Trade

Open a Market

Click any market card to open the market detail page. You’ll see:
  • Full title, description, and resolution criteria
  • Price chart and trading history
  • Order book (pending buy/sell orders at different prices)
  • Your current holdings in this market
  • Recent trades

Place a Buy Order

  1. Choose an outcome: Select the asset (for multi-outcome markets), then choose YES or NO
  2. Set price: The price per share (1–99¢), representing implied probability. Use the current market price to fill immediately, or set a limit price for a better deal.
  3. Set quantity: How many shares to buy
  4. Review total cost: Price × Quantity = Total Cost (e.g. 75¢ × 100 = 75 PT)
  5. Place order: Click “Place Order”, review the confirmation, then click “Confirm”
Start small. Begin with a small position to learn how the platform works before committing larger amounts.

Order Execution

  • Immediate match: If a matching sell order exists, the trade executes instantly
  • Order book: If no match, your order waits in the book and appears under Orders
  • Partial fill: Your order may fill in parts as matching orders arrive
  • Cancel: Open orders can be cancelled any time from the Orders page

Common Questions

You can buy as few as 1 share (1¢). Check each market for any specific minimums.
It depends on market liquidity. Some fill instantly; others wait in the order book. You can always cancel open orders from the Orders page.
Internally, trading uses PT (Predicta Tokens) — 1 PT = 100¢. Your balance is displayed in your chosen display currency (USD, KES, etc.), automatically converted using live rates.
You can cancel any open order from the Orders page. Once an order is fully filled, it cannot be changed.
